Other ENPs in the Area
In early to mid-March we asked some of the other area ENPs in the area to share information about their programs so we could learn more about other programs and how they operate:
Key Takeaways:
- SENP is one of the youngest ENPs–we just started our 3rd year in 2022 but some ENPs have been in operation for 10+ years.
- Of the 5 ENPS, we have the most homes in our neighborhood area. (Approx. 1,464 homes with 591 members thus far for 2022)
- 63-66 average # of planned patrol hours per week by the 5 ENPs
- 60% of the ENPs pay in the same pay range as we pay per patrol hour ($46-$50/hour)
- SENP has the least expensive program of the 5 programs ($300/year)
- All ENPs use DPD to service their ENP
- 60% of the 5 ENPs are having trouble finding officers, including SENP
- 4 of the 5 ENPs use an accounting or membership software program, but none of the ENPs use the same program
SENP patrol hours per month for first quarter of 2022 were fewer than planned because we had one officer out because of an on-the-job injury, one officer has been out on paternity leave and one officer is on administrative leave and we’re not sure when he’ll be back. Our program is also competing with other off duty jobs that pay higher per hour than we are able to offer, however, our pay per hour is at the top end of the 5 ENPs we reached out to. We’re working with our DPD ENP coordinator to see what can be done to find more officers.

Please Keep Us Informed
At SENP we are continually striving to offer the best program around. But we can’t do that without feedback from our membership. If you see a crime in progress, call 911 first then the SENP mobile phone. If no one answers, the next officer on duty should return your call or text. If they don’t do this, please let us know so we can help address any issues with our SENP DPD Coordinator. Instead of calling 911 you can also make a report here:
https://www.dallaspolice.net/reports/Pages/coplogic.aspxKeep in mind, the officers may not always be on duty when you request your out of town home check. Again, the next officer on duty should reply to your phone call or text but if they don’t, please let us know.
