We Did It! 600+ Members Have Joined for 2025 + February 2025 Crime Report.

March 6, 2025 by Lauren Law

This past month was busy texting, calling and emailing the last few members from 2024 to rejoin for 2025. We were also able to get some new members at the homes of people who moved this past year!

We would like to thank all of the street coordinators across our neighborhood for their due diligence in reaching out to get their neighbors and new neighbors to join our program.  We ended up five short from last year but we feel really good about where we ended up and will hopefully surpass this number by the end of the year. At 608 members for 2025, we can afford up to 63 patrol hours per week.

Suspicious Person Roaming Neighborhood

January 13, 2024 by Lauren Law

Report from a neighbor on Ridgeside:

About 6:28 am on Thursday morning, pulling out of my driveway there was a black car (2018 Hyundai Elantra, license plate KGP7680) parked across the street from my house, facing Jesuit with his fog lights on. I could see his face and could tell it was a Black man with dreadlocks approximately shoulder/ear length.  He was intentionally crouching in an effort to hide from me. I pulled to the end of our cul-de-sac and waited for him while I called my husband and texted Neighborhood Patrol. He turned around, drove down Ridgeside towards Welch and stopped again. He had his fog lights on. I pulled behind him and when I called to report the license plate number he turned north on Welch and then right on Ellensburg. I stopped following him at that point, but when my husband arrived home about 15 minutes later he was parked in the middle of the street and waiting. He stayed there for a while. Then he pulled to the end of our street at Drujon and parked again but sideways and stayed there until about 7:30 am. I did go back and check my cameras. It does appear that there was a driver in the 4 o’clock hour. He appeared to be alone.

SENP Update:  We had our SENP DPD coordinator run the license plate and the car isn’t registered to this neighborhood. We don’t know if this person was waiting for someone to come out and was picking them up or just up to no good. We decided it was appropriate to send out this warning.

Please be on alert for this vehicle and call 911 first to report a suspicious vehicle in area.

What can you do? We need to keep criminals out of our wonderful neighborhood! If you haven’t renewed for 2024 will you please do it today? We need everyone to renew by no later than 1/31/24
1. Make sure your external and internal video equipment is properly working & subscriptions are paid. 2. Look your doors, especially the back doors where the perpetrators seem to be entering.
3. Lock all gates on your property.
4. Close your garage doors.Set your home alarms.
5. Turn your lights on at night on your front and back porches.
6. Even if you’re only going out of town for one night, text (do not call)  SENP to let them know you’ll be gone so they can check on your home.
7. Ask for a text back to confirm.

If You See Something Suspicious, Please Say Something. Call 911 first!

Thanking Our SENP DPD Patrol Officers: Holiday Bonus Request

November 26, 2023 by Lauren Law

We hope you had a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!

Thankful for our patrol officers in 2023
We currently have 9 officers who patrol our area between 60-70 hours a week, Monday-Sunday (one officer not shown). These officers take on this extra patrol before or after their shifts with the DPD. We thank them for taking time away from their families to help make our community a safer place to live.  As shared in previous emails, our crime has reduced 63.38% from we first started the program, four years ago on December 25, 2019. The continuous presence of our officers has no doubt contributed to that reduction in crime.

If you would like to thank our officers for their year of dedication to our Schreiber community, please visit this link and make your gift today. We will keep this link open until Dec.15 and distribute to the officers before Christmas. You may also send a Zelle payment to Schreiber ENP at [email protected] or mail a check to SENP. Details found at this link.

Update on SENP 2024 member enrollment
We’re off to a slow start this year. At this time last year we had 198 sign ups and this year we’re only at 153. If you have already joined for 2024, bless you! If you haven’t, please rejoin SENP sooner than later so we can figure out our total budget for next year and let the 9 officers know if they’ll still be able to work with us in 2024. Thank you for your understanding.

You can re-enroll now by visiting this link: https://schreiberenp.org/join.

Thank you in advance for your generosity and we wish you and yours the safest and happiest of holidays.

Lauren Law, Founder/President
Jim Nugent, Treasurer
